Mariners hire new VP of ballpark operations

SEATTLE — Trevor Gooby, who had been working for the Pirates as their senior director of operations in Florida and the Dominican Republic, was introduced on Tuesday by the Mariners as their new vice president of ballpark operations.
Gooby replaced Joe Myhra, who filled that role the past three seasons after six years as the team’s director of maintenance for Safeco Field. Myhra has taken a job as the president of the United Center in Chicago.
