England’s senior team might have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons recently, but the Under-17s showed the future might be bright by thumping Germany 8-1 on Monday.

Among the scorers in the Croatia Cup rout were Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster, Chelsea’s George McEachran, Phil Foden of Manchester City and Manchester United’s Angel Gomes.

Here’s a look at all the players involved in the match for England…

Goalkeeper: Curtis Anderson (Manchester City, 16 years old)

A regular for England at Under-17 level, and over six-foot tall, Anderson was signed by City as an 11-year-old from Blackpool. Now 16, he was named goalkeeper of the tournament as City won the Cayman Airway U15s competition last season.

Defender: Kane Wilson (West Brom, 16 years old)

The full-back, who made his first-team debut earlier this season as a substitute against Northampton, has been tipped for a “bright future” by West Brom stalwart Chris Brunt. “He wants to learn, works hard around the place, gets his head down and showed a great attitude over pre-season,” Brunt said.

Defender: Brooklyn Lyons-Foster (Tottenham, 15 years old)

Lyons-Foster recently scored as England U17s beat Belgium in a friendly.  He played the first half of the win over Germany and is the younger brother of Kodi, who has played for Spurs and Aston Villa as a youngster.

Defender: Joel Latibeaudiere (Manchester City, 16 years old)

A tall centre-back who is composed on the ball, Latibeaudiere was part of the City side that finished runners-up in the FA Youth Cup last season. He was named man of the match as City beat Manchester United 2-0 in the U18 Premier League in September.

Defender: Jonathan Panzo (Chelsea, 15 years old)

A physically imposing defender, Panzo captained England at U16 …
