Luxembourg – Best players of Luxembourg Total League round 1

Manny Atkins American Manny Atkins (198-F/G-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for league’s leader Contern and that’s him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1.The 25-year old swingman had the game-high 34 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Contern in his team’s victory, helping them to crush Basket Esch (#9, 0-1) with 17-point margin 84-67. It allowed Contern to jump to the first place in the Luxembourg Total League. But it’s just the very beginning of the season and Contern won just one (their first) game. It’s too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team’s last game Atkins had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts.The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 28-year old American forward Cory Johnson (200-F-88) of T71. Johnson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Of course T71 cruised to a 86-78 relatively comfortable win over Amicale (0-1). …
