Experience earns Ethier spot on NLDS roster

SAN FRANCISCO — Andre Ethier was rewarded for his grueling rehabilitation from a broken leg Sunday when manager Dave Roberts said Ethier will be on the roster for the National League Division Series.
Ethier joins Josh Reddick, Joc Pederson, Howie Kendrick, Yasiel Puig and Andrew Toles as confirmed outfielders for the best-of-five series that starts Friday and Saturday in Washington. Games 3 and 4 (if necessary) will be at Dodger Stadium on Oct. 10 and 11.
Ethier will be the primary left-handed pinch-hitter and give Roberts flexibility for double-switches. With Reddick and Pederson manning right and center fields, Puig starting against left-handers and left field probably split between Kendrick and Toles, Ethier’s time in the field will be …
