Ten-man Simba hold Yanga in derby

Simba came from behind to hold rivals Young Africans ‘Yanga’ 1-1 on Saturday at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam despite playing with ten men for the final hour of the game.
Burundian Amissi Tambwe scored the opener for Yanga in the 26th minute converting Mbuyu Twite’s long pass before Shiza Kichuya equalized for Simba four minutes before the lapse of the time.
Simba remain at the top of the table with 17 points after seven matches, six more than third place Yanga, who have played two games less.
The game almost generated into chaos following a protest by Simba players over Tambwe’s opener, alleging that the latter handled the ball before firing home. The result of the near chaos was Simba captain Jonas Mkude being sent off on 29 …
