Ventura mum on reports about future with Sox

CHICAGO — White Sox manager Robin Ventura, whose contract ends at the conclusion of Sunday’s season finale, once again declined comment on his future as the club’s manager following Saturday’s 6-0 loss to the Twins.
Earlier Saturday evening, a Chicago Sun-Times online report, citing no sources, stated that Ventura was not expected to return and that bench coach Rick Renteria would replace him as the club’s manager.
The White Sox declined to comment on the report. General manager Rick Hahn will hold an 11 a.m. CT press conference on Monday at U.S. Cellular Field.
“We’ve been over this,” Ventura said. “I’ll talk at the end of the year. … I’ve been pretty consistent with that. There can be whatever out there. For right now, just talking about tonight.”
