BOSTON — A bizarre play in the bottom of the seventh inning loomed large during Friday night’s crucial game between the Red Sox and Blue Jays.
Boston was trailing, 3-1, in the seventh when Andrew Benintendi led off with a double to right field. Dustin Pedroia followed with a little dribbler out in front of the plate, and that’s when things got a little chaotic on the field.
