Rodon K’s 7 to start game, ties AL record

CHICAGO — Carlos Rodon tied the franchise and American League record for most consecutive strikeouts to start a game by fanning the first seven Twins hitters faced Friday night at U.S. Cellular Field.
The record is held by Joe Cowley, set on May 28, 1986 in Texas, which is also a White Sox record most consecutive strikeouts at any point in a game.
