Chase Elliott is learning all he can as he navigates his way through his first Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
The rookie driver goes into Sunday’s Citizen Soldier 400 at Dover International Speedway ninth in the standings and in relatively good shape to move on to the Round of 12.
Elliott isn’t taking anything for granted, but he believes experience on tracks like Dover – where the series raced back in May – is beneficial. The overall performance of Hendrick Motorsports has also picked up in recent weeks and that’s another reason Elliott is feeling good about his chances to stay alive in the Chase.
