Mehmas heads for new career

Mehmas is “highly unlikely” to take up his entry in the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday week before being retired to Tally-Ho Stud in Ireland.
The remarkably consistent two-year-old is still with trainer Richard Hannon following his latest run at Newmarket last week, but it is very doubtful he will race again before he assumes stallion duties.
The son of Acclamation was third to The Last Lion in the Middle Park Stakes as he maintained his record of being in the first three in all his eight starts.
His four victories included a pair of Group Twos – the July and Richmond Stakes – as well as second place behind Guineas and Derby favourite Churchill in the National Stakes at the Curragh.
