Visitors were defeated by BK Lions Hradec (1-1) 77-69. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 27-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BK Lions Hradec made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. BK Lions Hradec outrebounded USK Praha 33-17 including 23 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Stanislav Zuzak (204-80, college: Cal-Irvine) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. American center Ryan Canty (206, college: Fordham) chipped in 7 points and 11 rebounds. Finnish power forward Alexander Madsen (207-95) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. USK Praha’s coach Mirsad Alilovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. BK Lions Hradec is looking forward to face BK Decin on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. USK Praha will play against CEZ Nymburk and it may be a tough game between close rivals. The game in Ostrava was also worth to mention about. BK Opava (1-1) played at the court of NH Ostrava (1-1). NH Ostrava defeated BK Opava 68-53. American point guard Max Guercy (175-94, college: Rice) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Isaac Sevlie contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Martin Gniadek (203-90) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds for BK Opava. NH Ostrava will play against Basketbal Svitavy (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BK Opava will play against MMCITE Brno (#11) to get more than just one victory in their record. The game with biggest result difference took place in Nymburk. Local CEZ Nymburk (2-0) outscored BK Kolin (0-2) 101-65 on Tuesday night. Howard Sant-Roos scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners. CEZ Nymburk’s coach Ronen Ginzburg felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lee Skinner responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. CEZ Nymburk will meet USK Praha (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BK Kolin will play against BK Pardubice and hope to win that game. Rest of the games of round 2 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises.
