Travis remains out with left shoulder injury

TORONTO — Second baseman Devon Travis was held out of the Blue Jays’ starting lineup for the second consecutive game on Wednesday night against the Orioles because of a left shoulder injury.
Travis sustained the injury during Monday night’s benches-clearing fracas with the Yankees. The 25-year-old hurt his surgically repaired shoulder during a scrum, and he aggravated it during a fourth-inning strikeout.
“He’s making progress,” Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. “We’ll see [when he’s able to return].”
Prior to hurting his shoulder, Travis had settled in as Toronto’s leadoff hitter. Travis, who has hit a team-leading .299 with 10 home runs and 49 RBIs in 97 games, is expected to be re-evaluated on a daily basis.
