Make Time a Trophy possible

David Menuisier can still dream of a crack at the Racing Post Trophy with Make Time after a striking success at Salisbury.
Narrowly touched off at Ascot on his debut when a 50-1 chance, he was considerably shorter in the betting for the first division of the Wilkins Kennedy British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes.
Sent on his way at 3-1 under Jimmy Fortune, the result never looked in any doubt as he cruised to the front just over a furlong out before being kicked clear to win by five lengths.
The Queen’s Swiftsure stayed on taking for second and given it was a Royal runner who beat Make Time on debut, Menuisier did not need to apologise.
“There is no set plan with him. We’ll get him home and see how he is first,” said Menuisier. “The pleasing thing after today is that we can’t write off the idea (Doncaster, October 22).
