Morrison’s Cesarewitch trio

Trainer Hughie Morrison is planning a three-horse raid on the Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket on Saturday week.
The East Ilsley intends to run Sweet Selection, Star Rider and Fun Mac after 76 stood their ground on Wednesday in the two-and-a-quarter-mile test, for which a maximum field of 34 is allowed.
All three of Morrison’s entries should make the cut with Sweet Selection the lightest-weighted of them on 8st 1lb.
The four-year-old completed a hat-trick of handicap wins during the summer and was far from disgraced when fifth in the Doncaster Cup.
“If asked to pick the best handicapped of the trio, the only answer would be Sweet Selection but she will still need to be in the form of her life is she is going to win a handicap of this magnitude,” he said.
