Bellew wants Cleverly to win

Tony Bellew is backing his bitter enemy Nathan Cleverly to become a world champion again.
The Welshman challenges WBA light-heavyweight holder Juergen Braehmer out in Germany on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports, five years after their initial proposed fight fell through.
Braehmer’s withdrawal in the week of the WBO light-heavyweight title fight saw Bellew try and step in and fill the void and even if it didn’t happen, it sparked one of British boxing’s most spiteful feuds for years.
‘Bomber’ and Cleverly are still anything but friends following the two fights between them, but the Liverpudlian and new addition to the Sky Sports Boxing team, admits he still wants his old enemy to become Britain’s latest world champion.
“I wish him good luck and I hope he pulls it off,” he told Sky Sports.
“I hope he beats Braehmer because I do believe if he’d have fought him when he should’ve fought him all those years ago, he would’ve beaten him then.
“I am just not sure about the miles on the clock and how much desire he’s got left in him. Only Cleverly will know himself.”
