Pomeranz scratched from Thursday start

NEW YORK — Red Sox left-hander Drew Pomeranz was scratched from Thursday night’s start at Yankee Stadium due to soreness in his left forearm and likely won’t be used as a starter for the remainder of 2016.
Lefty Henry Owens, who was on the expanded roster for insurance purposes, will take the ball in Thursday night’s finale at Yankee Stadium.
Pomeranz will be used as a reliever in the postseason if he is on the roster.
Boston’s postseason rotation will include Rick Porcello, David Price, Eduardo Rodriguez and Clay Buchholz if manager John Farrell elects to go with four starters.
