Triple jumper Hrysopiyi Devetzi set to be stripped of 2008 Olympic bronze

Retired Greek triple jumper Hrysopiyi Devetzi is set to lose both her 2007 world and 2008 Olympic bronze medals after the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) confirmed a two-year disqualification of results as well as a four-year ban following a positive test after sample reanalysis.
The sport’s world governing body said the 40-year-old returned an Adverse Analytical Finding for the banned steroid stanozolol, with her results from August 31, 2007, to August 30, 2009, to be disqualified. Devetzi is also banned until November 10, 2019, although she has already …
