QPR battle for draw at Burton

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink had to settle for a point on his return to Burton as his QPR side battled back to earn a 1-1 draw in the Sky Bet Championship.

The former Burton boss was desperate to halt Rangers’ four-game winless sequence at the Pirelli but in the end was glad to see his side rescue a losing situation for the second game in a row.

Jamie Ward, on loan from Nottingham Forest, gave Nigel Clough’s side the breakthrough they had been looking for with a diving header after 58 minutes to finish off Lloyd Dyer’s looping shot.

But Sebastian Polter, only on the field for five minutes, prodded home from 12 yards on a swift counter with 20 minutes to go.
