It is five years since Nathan Cleverly was first scheduled to challenge Juergen Braehmer and back then a fresh-faced Gareth Bale helped with his fellow Welshman’s preparation.
‘Clev’ will be challenging for the German’s WBA light heavyweight world title on Saturday night at the Jahnsportforum in Neubrandenburg, Germany, live on Sky Sports.
The 29-year-old Welshman is looking to join Braehmer as a two-time world champion having, like Braehmer, previously held the WBO strap.
Cleverly won that vacant title after seeing a fight with the champion Braehmer fall through at the last minute back in 2011.
