Ireland captain William Porterfield opted to bat against Australia in the one-off ODI at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.
Niall O’Brien, who was forced to sit out of the ODI against South Africa after slipping in the bathroom, missed this game as well because of a concussion. Right-arm seamer Barry McCarthy, coming in place of Craig Young in as a like-for-like replacement, was the only change in the Ireland XI.
