After honoring friend, Dee crushes 1st homer

MIAMI — Moments after honoring Jose Fernandez by stepping into the batter’s box right-handed as the Marlins’ first batter on Monday night, second baseman Dee Gordon, a left-handed hitter, returned to his familiar batter’s box and drilled an upper-deck home run off the Mets’ Bartolo Colon.
The home run was the first of the season for Gordon.
