Chip Kelly Speaks on Why Colin Kaepernick Is No. 2 QB Behind Blaine Gabbert

Even after a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers don’t appear ready to make a quarterback change.
When asked about possibly replacing starter Blaine Gabbert, head coach Chip Kelly explained, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com: “Colin Kaepernick is our No. 2 QB. I don’t think he’s 100 percent right now so that’s why he’s our No. 2.”
This comes after a scathing review of Gabbert from Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett.
“I think Kaepernick gives the team a better chance of winning,” Bennett said after the game, per Jayson Jenks of the Seattle Times. “But that’s just my opinion.”
