Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Julian Draxler and Marcelo Brozovic
- Updated: September 26, 2016
Reported Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain target Julian Draxler expects new transfer speculation to emerge in the January transfer window but is committed to spending the 2016-17 campaign with current club Wolfsburg. Meanwhile, the Gunners are again linked with Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic.
As reported by Alex Richards of the Daily Mirror, Draxler openly asked for a transfer away from Wolfsburg during the summer, leading to plenty of links with both PSG and Arsenal. A standoff with Die Wolfe developed, but the Germany international was told he would not be sold just one year after he made the move to the Volkswagen Arena.
The speculation has died down since then, helped by Draxler’s commitment to the club on the pitch. As shared by OptaFranz, the speculation did not impact his start to the Bundesliga season:

The 23-year-old has now committed his immediate future to the club but also made it clear that his focus on Wolfsburg will only last until next summer. Speaking at a fan event, he said, per Richards:
We had disagreements. But from September 1, it was clear that we could only go in one direction. Now it no longer matters.
There will probably be speculation again in January, but I won’t be the one to start them. My head is fully focused. I play towards the summer, trying to help the club. …
We work professionally together. I am part of the team, just like everyone else.
We have our differences set aside, working towards a common goal.
