Campo Grande, South Mato Grosso, Brazil (Sept. 25, 2016)—Bouncing back from fourth place finishes at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil and the 2016 Swatch FIVB World Tour Finals in Toronto, Talita Antunes/Larissa Franca regained their championship form by winning the gold medal Sunday at the season-opening event on the super-competitive Brazilian National Tour.Both three-time Olympians, Talita and Larissa, who have won 13 gold medals in 27 events as a team on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, won the season-opening gold medal in straight sets over the Val/Renata duo in the tournament place at Nations Park in Campo Grande.The bronze medal match saw the Jose/Thati duo win in two sets over the Juliana/Taiana duo.Talita/Larissa came out strong to set the tone in the gold medal match, dominating the first set 21-9 and pulling away in the second 15-9 to earn the 13th gold medal on the Brazilian National Tour including the eighth consecutive victory for the impressive tandem.
