Nats’ Cole ejected, prompting benches to clear

PITTSBURGH — A feud between the Pirates and Nationals turned into a benches-clearing incident in the third inning Sunday afternoon at PNC Park.
Tensions began to mount in the top of the third, when Bryce Harper laced a line drive to right field. He stretched the hit into a triple, hustling to third base even as right fielder Josh Bell’s throw sailed wide of Jung Ho Kang. But Kang faked a tag, leading Harper to make an awkward slide into the bag.
