Mazembe reach final as holders Etoile crash out

A one-all draw in the first leg in Sousse last weekend did the trick for ‘Les Corbeaux’, advancing on the away goal rule after a 1-1 tie on aggregate.
The match pitted the reigning champions of the two continental club championships; CAF Champions League – TP Mazembe and – Etoile, and served a repeat of the CAF Super Cup clash last February at the same venue which the Congolese won 2-1.
It is the second time Mazembe has reached the decisive stage of the second-tier continental club championship after losing out on the title in 2013 to yet another Tunisian side, CS Sfaxien.
