Hale: Tomas’ early removal a ‘personal thing’

BALTIMORE — D-backs right fielder Yasmany Tomas was removed during the fifth inning of Saturday’s 6-1 loss to the Orioles due to an apparent lack of hustle.
However, manager Chip Hale would not disclose the exact reason for Tomas’ departure after the game.
“That’s between he and I, that’s a personal thing,” Hale said. “Yas has played his tail off all year for us. He’s one of the guys on this team that I really love. It’s just between he and I.”
