Iglesias is day to day with bruised right hand

DETROIT — Just when the Tigers crept a step closer to full health with the return of second baseman Ian Kinsler, they lost the other end of their double-play duo when shortstop Jose Iglesias bruised his right hand on a bizarre play in Friday night’s 8-3 win over the Royals.
X-rays were negative, the Tigers announced, and Iglesias is considered day to day.
“No fracture,” manager Brad Ausmus said. “Just a contusion.”
