There wasn’t much doubt who would win the Phillips 66 Performance of the Year Award at Friday night’s United States Aquatic Sports Convention. Katie Ledecky was all but a lock for the honor, with the only question whether she would win for her Olympic-title-winning effort in the 400 freestyle or for her gold-medal-winning showing in the 800 free. Ultimately, Ledecky was lauded for what she did in the longer event.
