Marlins honor prospects Castillo, Anderson

MIAMI — The Marlins on Friday honored two of their top prospects, as right-hander Luis Castillo and third baseman Brian Anderson were selected as the organization’s Pitcher of the Year and Player of the Year, respectively.
Anderson, according to MLBPipeline.com, is Miami’s No. 4-rated prospect, and Castillo ranks fifth. The two are trending towards being big league ready, perhaps as early as next year.
Castillo, a hard-throwing right-hander, had an eventful season. He started off at Class A Advanced Jupiter, where he was dominating the Florida State League. However, while the Marlins were contending in the National League standings this summer, Castillo attracted strong interest from opposing clubs.
