Valencia finally grabbed their first points of the 2016-17 La Liga season on Thursday, as Daniel Parejo converted a late penalty to give Los Che a 2-1 win over Alaves in Week 5.

The result takes Valencia up to 18th place and might spark a much-needed run after a dreadful start to the season for the fallen giants.

Leganes and Espanyol both grabbed vital 2-1 wins in the battle against relegation, beating Deportivo La Coruna and Osasuna, respectively. Here’s a look at Thursday’s results:

Valencia fans had to wait five weeks for their team’s luck to finally turn, as interim manager Voro finally delivered Los Che their first points of the season against Alaves.
