Duke Roufus: Sergio Pettis Out of UFC Fight Night Portland with ‘Minor Injury’

Sergio Pettis will not be able to face Louis Smolka at UFC Fight Night 96 on Oct. 1.Duke Roufus, Pettis’ trainer at Roufusport, announced via Instagram on Thursday that the flyweight suffered a “minor injury” and had to withdraw from the card. The UFC has not officially announced the injury, so it is currently unclear if a replacement opponent will be sought for Smolka. UFC Fight Night takes place at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore., and is headlined by a bantamweight showdown between John Lineker and John Dodson. …
