Pirates acquire veteran lefty Coke from Yankees

The Pirates have acquired veteran left-hander Phil Coke in a Minor League deal with the Yankees for cash considerations, the Bucs announced Thursday.
Coke, 34, most recently pitched in the Majors at the beginning of May, when he allowed five runs over six innings in three relief appearances with the Yankees. Since then, Coke had pitched for New York’s Triple-A affiliate in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, where he posted a 5-3 record and a 2.96 ERA in 20 appearances (11 starts) during the International League regular season.
