The journey to Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway will carry teams through New England this week with 3,194.98 “Miles2Miami” remaining in the 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Sunday’s Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is the second stop in the 10-race title series that will conclude Nov. 20 in South Florida. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Matt Kenseth entered the Chase as the No. 7 seed and that’s right where he sits … seventh in points … after the first week of the post-season.
He’s won the last two races at NHMS but takes nothing for granted heading into the weekend.
“Racing at Loudon isn’t as simple as just working on the balance of your racecar,” Kenseth said of the flat one-mile oval. “The track changes so much from Friday to Sunday. You need to figure out how to be good for qualifying and then have all the right adjustments …
