Alvarez vs. Nurmagomedov Targeted for UFC 206 After UFC 205 Bout Falls Through

At least for now, a lightweight showdown between champ Eddie Alvarez and featherweight ruler Conor McGregor at UFC 205 is not likely to happen.According to a report from UFC Tonight on Wednesday, Alvarez was sent a bout agreement to defend his belt against top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 205 in New York on Nov. 12, but the champion did not return it in time to meet the specified deadline. As a result, Alvarez has been sent a new agreement to face the Dagestani fighter at UFC 206 in Toronto on Dec. 10.
