Jose Mourinho said Northampton Town should have had a man sent off in their 3-1 EFL Cup defeat to Manchester United.
United, who will face Manchester City in the fourth round, went into Wednesday night’s game on the back of three straight defeats, but took an early lead through Michael Carrick at Sixfields.
Alex Revell pulled the Cobblers level from the penalty spot, but second-half goals from Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford secured the win.
