Luke Shaw Reportedly Wants to Play Through Injury to Regain Jose Mourinho Trust

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is reportedly eager to be in contention for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City despite suffering a groin tear, as he is keen to earn back manager Jose Mourinho’s trust.
Per Ed Aarons in the Guardian, Shaw, 21, will not be available for United’s EFL Cup clash with Northampton Town on Wednesday after he suffered his injury in Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Watford, after which he was singled out for criticism by Mourinho for poor positioning.
According to Mike McGrath in the Sun, though, the English defender is eager that his treatment not force him to be sidelined, and he wants to “play through the pain” and prove himself to Mourinho again.
A United source revealed that Shaw’s injury will require constant treatment, but the former Southampton man is confident he will not need to spend any significant time out of action, per McGrath.
The Press Association’s Simon Peach reported that, though Shaw’s knock is not as serious as first thought, he is still a doubt for Saturday’s vital clash with Leicester at Old Trafford:
