Colin Kaepernick Says He’s Received Death Threats over National Anthem Protest

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s silent protest during the national anthem has taken a scary turn.
Per ESPN’s Nick Wagoner, Kaepernick said he’s “received death threats via multiple means since he began his protest of racial inequality and oppression.”
Wagoner added that Kaepernick has not informed 49ers security about the threats because his feeling is “if something were to happen to him, it would only be proving his point.”
Since the 49ers’ final preseason game against the San Diego Chargers, Kaepernick has taken a knee as the national anthem plays as a means of protesting various racial and social injustices happening in the United States.
