Packers Reportedly Interested in Spiller Tuesday, Sept. 20
The Green Bay Packers are reportedly having free agent C.J. Spiller in for a visit, according to Adam Caplan of ESPN.
Spiller, 29, appeared in 13 games last season with the New Orleans Saints, rushing 36 times for 112 yards and adding 34 receptions for 239 yards and two scores.
The Saints released Spiller on Sept. 13, however, just one year after signing a four-year, $16 million deal. Head coach Sean Payton discussed that somewhat surprising move, per Nick Underhill of the Advocate:
Payton on Spiller: Salary was already guaranteed. They looked to see if there was a trade partner. Breaux injury accelerated it.
