News of the pick of the action from Beverley where Reedanjas justified Gay Kelleway’s belief with a winning debut.

Gay Kelleway may be tempted into taking a close look through the programme book in France to find a suitable opportunity for Reedanjas following her impressive debut success in the Beverley Annual Badgeholders Maiden Stakes on the Westwood.

Having enjoyed many successful raids across the Channel in seasons gone by, the Exning handler is considering getting her passport ready once again after the daughter of Sir Prancealot posted an authoritative success in the five-furlong affair.

Although initially sent to the Yorkshire track to keep stablemate Lightscameraction – a subsequent non-runner in the feature conditions race – company, the two-year-old took her chance to shine with a runaway five-length success under Dougie Costello.

Kelleway said of the 10/1 winner: “She only came to keep the other one (Lightscameraction) company.

“I’ve always liked her – she’s a proper, proper horse. Luke Morris came and rode her in some work the other day and said the same thing, so that was good to hear.

“I was half-tempted to run her in the big fillies’ stakes at Newmarket on Saturday, but this wasn’t a bad race so we thought we’d try her over a stiff five (furlongs).
