Antonio Conte Reportedly Angry with Chelsea Squad After 2-1 Defeat to Liverpool
- Updated: September 19, 2016
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was reportedly “extremely angry” with his players following Friday evening’s 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Liverpool, which resulted in a “dressing room fury” at Stamford Bridge.
According to the Sun’s Warren Haughton, the Italian “unleashed hell” upon the Blues playing staff after their unbeaten start to the season was ended by goals from Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson.
Haughton wrote that Conte laid into his players for their subpar defending in the absence of club veteran John Terry, as well as accusing Chelsea’s stars of playing in fear of the Reds attack.
Di Marzio translator David Amoyal expressed his belief this is hardly the time to panic, however, as Chelsea have still shown an improvement upon their previous campaign under the new tactician:
@dandormer @AdamJosephSport Conte lost just one game so far and Chelsea collected way more points than this time last year
