Avalanche Tops Sharks 4-1 at Rookie Showcase

WESTMINSTER, Colo.—The Colorado Avalanche prospects that are expected to compete for a spot on the team’s opening night roster looked impressive in the first game of the Rookie Showcase.
Chris Bigras, AJ Greer, JT Compher and Nikita Zadorov all scored as the Avs defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Ice Centre at the Promenade.
Bigras and Zadorov were two of the three players that saw NHL action last season, along with Mikko Rantanen, who had an assist in the contest. Compher and Greer are expected to push for a spot on the NHL roster this season after stellar …
