Business as Usual for Kurt Busch

Share: JOLIET, Ill. – Kurt Busch has a very simple approach for this year’s Chase – keep doing what’s been working throughout the year. The Stewart-Haas Racing driver won a pair of races in the regular season to make his way into the playoffs. As things kick off Sunday with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 at the 1.5-mile Chicagoland Speedway, Busch doesn’t plan on changing a thing. “As far as our team, it’s business as usual,” said Busch, who brings a series-best 1.5-mile track average finish of 5.8 into Chicagoland. “We have a really strong team. I really like (Crew chief) Tony Gibson and the way he leads this group of guys. Our pit stops have been phenomenal as of late. “The way that we’ve approached our season as a team, the 41 car, it showed with our consistency. It showed all the way until Bristol, when we finished every race on the lead lap.” Busch said while his team was still focused on trying to win races in the regular season even after he’s qualified for the Chase, there were other things they worked on preparing for …
