Chen to start Monday vs. Nats barring setback

PHILADELPHIA — The only thing standing between Wei-Yin Chen and his first Major League start since July 20 is a bullpen session he will throw on Saturday.
If all goes according to plan, Chen will make his return from a left elbow sprain on Monday to open the Marlins’ series against the Nationals at Marlins Park. Chen will replace rookie right-hander Jake Esch in the rotation, while giving Jose Fernandez an extra day’s rest.
