Murray loses Davis Cup opener

Andy Murray slipped to a five-set defeat against Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro in the opening rubber of Great Britain’s Davis Cup semi-final.
The British No 1 endured his longest ever match as he fell 4-6 7-5 7-6 3-6 4-6 in a five-hour slog in Glasgow against Del Potro, the same opponent that Murray overcame to claim a Rio 2016 Olympic gold medal.
Del Potro had impressed at the Olympics upon his return from injury, but has now recorded one of his best wins since lifting the 2009 US Open by beating the Scot.
