The 2016 Italian Open was ravaged by the weather for a second day running as play was completely suspended after the Friday morning action in Milan, Italy.

Five hours of play were lost on Thursday, and a further three hours during Round 2 as Chris Paisley held the lead after five birdies from 13 holes.

Major winner Danny Willett sits in second place on nine under for the tournament, a single shot behind his compatriot at the top of the leaderboard.

Play suspended for the day at 3:36 p.m., with all the later starters yet to begin the second round. Torrential rain and lightning was the winner as the electrical activity made play too dangerous to continue.
