New England Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower’s status for the team’s Week 2 game against the Miami Dolphins is very much in doubt due to a knee injury.

Hightower Misses 3rd Consecutive Practice Friday, Sept. 16
According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Hightower was absent from practice for the third straight day Friday, which makes it highly unlikely that he will suit up against the Dolphins.
The 2012 first-round pick out of Alabama suffered the injury against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. He missed some action but returned to the game and recorded just a single tackle.
