Chase Ready to Roll

Share: CHICAGO – The drivers in this year’s Chase for the Sprint Cup kicked things off with a Media Day in downtown Chicago. This year’s field includes 13 drivers, who won races and three who made the Chase though the point system. The 10-race playoff schedule kicks off Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway. Kyle Busch comes into the Chase as the defending series champion and put together a regular season that included four wins. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver, who came back after injury last year to win his first title, has a positive feeling as he tries to defending his title. “I kind of feel about the same, actually,” Busch said about his attitude this year versus last. “I feel like we kind of are right even with where we were last year – kind of doing the same things – but there are other guys who are better than us, so we’re just going to have to figure out how to out-race them and out-finish them when we need to. A couple of our ‘teammates’ – the 78 (Martin Truex Jr.) especially – he’s just been stellar fast each and every week.
