Charlie Carrel Wins a WCOOP; Rick Trigg Secures a Six-Figure Score

Earlier this week, UK & Ireland PokerNews highlighted some of the biggest scores enjoyed by players calling the United Kingdom home in the 2016 World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP). Today we have a few more excellent results, including a six-figure score for Rick “ThEcLaiMEer” Trigg, and a first WCOOP title for Charlie “Epiphany77” Carrel.
Carrel entered WCOOP Event 31: $215 No Limit Hold’em Rebuy along with 772 opponents. This 773-strong field made 512 rebuys, purchased 612 add-ons, and created a $385,091 prize pool which was shared among the top 98 finishers.
At the end of the 25th level, the tournament paused with only 18 players remaining, Carrel finding himself sixth in chips and with a real shot of a WCOOP title. By the time the final table was reached, Carrel was third from nine in terms of chips and there was little doubt the talented youngster was going to walk away with the lion’s share of the prize pool.
One by one the finalists fell by the wayside, including the Polish sensation that is Dmitry “Colisea” Urbanovich in fifth place. When Kurt “kurt23x” Fitzgerald bust in third place, Carrel and Brazilian Luciasno “Luciano S.H” Santos de Hollanda agreed upon a deal that split the …
