NEW YORK — Justin Turner’s ninth-inning double drove home Corey Seager with the first run of the evening and Dellin Betances committed a costly throwing error as the Dodgers edged the Yankees, 2-0, on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium.
Turner’s deciding hit down the left-field line came off Betances, who entered for the ninth inning. Seager reached on an error charged to second baseman Starlin Castro and swiped second base on Betances, against whom basestealers are a perfect 19-for-19 this year.
Betances threw wildly past catcher Gary Sanchez on Yasmani Grandal’s tapper back to the mound, allowing Turner to score Los Angeles’ second run — both unearned. The win was credited to Luis Avilan, who recorded four outs …
